Really quick blog before I run to Hartford

About 10 minutes away from driving to Hartford to go apply at a temp agency. We'll see how this goes. I hate going to things like this in the city cause there is never an easy way to park. Ugggg. So, I have to leave a half hour earlier than I would normally because I have to get money to pay for said parking. Anyway, lets see if I can re-cap the past couple days.

The only thing exciting I did was go over to my ex-co-worker Barbara's house yesterday to do laundry and hang out with her and her baby granddaughter Izzy. She's ADORABLE. So well behaved too, the quietest baby I've yet to see. And such a good sleeper too. But yeah, pretty much chilled there from like 10:30am-8pm. Pretty fun times, got to eat at an awesome New York style deli, best Reuben I've had in a long time.

Yeah, not a lot else to report. Still excited about Saturday, should be really fun. I'm a little nervous about this temp thing today, but it should be relatively easy. I've been to a couple of these places before and usually all you do is fill out paperwork, do like 5 different typing/computer tests, and then have an interview with a recruiter. I just don't know if I really feel up to it today since, yet again I had a hard time sleeping last night. I mean, I slept, but I don't think there was a single moment where I wasn't rolling from side to side trying to get comfortable because we have no AC in our room and it's so god damn muggy because it's been raining for a month straight pretty much. I ended up getting up at 5:30 to come sleep in the living room on the couch just so that I could lay in front of the air conditioner. We are so moving our bed into the living room ASAP. We've waited far too long as far as I'm concerned.

Yup, just checked the 10 day forecast, rain EVERY day AGAIN except for today. Just shoot me.

*Update*
Just got back from the temp thing. Sucked getting there. First of all, couldn't stop to get money because the fucking bank that is on the way to the freeway just fucking up and closed. Like they even ripped out the ATM. Gone. Great. Can't deposit my unemployment check or take money out, awesome. Anyway, drove to the place. Got into the parking garage and had a mini panic attack because there were no parking spaces that didn't have "Reserved" signs on them and I had no idea how to get back out of the garage because both of the exit lanes were security card only. Had to call the temp agency and they told me that there was like this secret way to get the underground parking that I had to find, and that you had to get a token to get out of the garage.

So, after that crisis was averted I found the place on the 9th floor. Went in, filled out like 11 pages of paperwork, literally, and then finally met with my recruiter lady. She was really nice and told me about a couple positions she had open. One was kind of a far drive from me, but it would be real estate data entry job thing. The other is a call center thing in Hartford for a facilities management company. It seems simple enough but you have to do a bunch of tests to apply and do three weeks of training. Meh, we'll see I suppose. She said she should be contacting me within the next three weeks or so. Lets hope :)

Then, getting out the security guy bitched at me for not carrying cash and I had to go to an ATM in the building to get money and it charged me almost $4. Then the drive home just really sucked, but whatever, I'm back. Now I'm just chilling at home trying to decompress. Might try to sleep again cause I feel exhausted.
